I'm new to York County, and my CWP expired a while ago over in Armstrong. The York Co. sheriff's webpage is down, so I can't find out if there's an application on-line. Does anyone know? Or do I have to go to the courthouse in person?
Thanks! |

You do indeed need to apply in person.
There are pens and two clipboards with the applications on the counter when you walk in. Fill out the form, takes about 10 min. Note: You need names address's and phone numbers of two reffs. Also your current employers address and phone number. After completing the aplication, turn it in with $25.00 and your on your way. (return in 3 weeks for pic. and pick up)

That sheriff's page is amazing. They refer to the document by 4 different names (as shown below), but not once the correct name of License To Carry Firearms. Why is this so hard to use the correct term as it is stated on the license and in the PA Uniform Firearms Act?
1. Pistol Permit (I guess revolvers are not allowed )2. Concealed Weapons Permit 3. FIREARM PERMIT 4. CONCEALED FIREARM PERMIT Arrrrrrgh! Rant over.

You think that's bad, you should go to this page on the York Sheriff's site. (It'll be retro like pre-brady bill and MLK rallies.)
