Just a bit upstream from you. have you checked out the rod and gun club in Elkland?

No, I haven't been to the club yet. I did most of my shooting on private land outside Cedar Run where I was caretaker.
I could use any info on who to contact to join, dues, etc.. Besides the club, is there a place where I can shoot? I have so many different target setups, I could probably start a range. All they are doing now is gathering dust. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I'm also an Administrator for a forum for disabled hunters. We try to help any way we can. Give me a shout if anyone needs help.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I was away in the hospital. Club dues at the CVRGC are 10 buck a year. due in October. The Club is open for rifle and pistol 8AM until dusk.
shooting rifle/pistol is free but bring your own targets (paper please) they have a 22rf shoot Fri. nights.

rwilson452, Thanks for the info, great to know especially since I just ordered an AK and I'll want to break it in.

Welcome to the forum, seaotter!

Elkland is an excellent range. Have been there three or four times over the past couple of weeks...... AR-15, AK47, .22, pistols..... nice ranges and good people.

Definately worth the $10/year (and more, but don't tell them I said that!).

Thanks Radio Cowboy. Wilson452 has offered to show me around and help me out. I have not been able to get back to him because of some medical problems and trying to get money together to buy more guns and ammo. Bought an AK a week or so ago,plus plenty of ammo. Still want to get more. Its good to have whether something happens or not.
When I can I'm going to get back to wilson452 about the club. I'm sure I'll see you around there sometime.

Well guys, I finally was able to see the range, at least partly. Being Thanksgiving I went for a spin and passed the range. Went in but only had time to check out the trap and skeet range. Looks like a very nice place. Even seeing only a part I was impressed. Didn't think it would be that large. I'll check it more closely next time around. Can't shoot because of eye surgery right now, but I'll be able to on a limited basis in a little while the doc says.
Is the land on the other side of the road part of the property?
