Default Image Hosting.

I have looked and can't find an answer for this on this site.

Why, when I try to upload a pic, it tells me it is too big to load. So I start resizing it, till it finally takes it. Yet, when I finally downsize it to load, it comes up way smaller than everyone elses pics that are posted. What am I doing wrong? Why are your pics the size of the screen, and mine are just small pics? This is making me crazy.

Format the pic as a JPEG/JPG. They are compressed. A bitmap (BMP) file of the same size is much larger.

So.....when you save the fiel when editing on your PC, you want to save as type JPG. Even Paint will do this.

If you use Windows XP they have a "Power Toy" called Image Resizer It's a very small application that allows you to "right click" an image and choose from three standard sizes or use a custom setting to make the image any size you want. Not only does this reduce the dimension's of viewable size (for really large photo's), but it drastically reduces the file size itself (k, Kb mg, etc.) You can also highlight and reduce two or more images at the same time. The quality of reduce photo's is not noticeably reduced. BEST OF ALL IT'S FREE

this link will take you to the download site:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

Scroll down the right side for this file:

ImageResizer.exe
521 KB 2 min @ 28.8 Kbps

Another way is to have the image hosted elsewhere, like Photobucket, much larger limit when "hotlinked"

OK, I feel stupid. I downloaded it and I can't find the file to use it. How is it set up to use.

Find the UNOPENED image file and right click on it, you will then have a pop-up choose "resize pictures", then another pop-up will appear with choices as to the size you want to make it. I've found that if you intend on hosting the file on the PAFOA site "medium" is the largest you can get away with, however if you use an image hosting site like photobucket "large" will work here.

I usually just resize mine to 600X800 with Photo Shop and then upload to the site. But I also use Photobucket a lot!

The forum pic storage limit is 800x600 and 2048KB. Even a 1600x1200 JPEG is only pushing about 740KB so I wager his formating is in Bitmap/BMP.
