Question Search feature

Does it take some time for info from posts to be available via the search feature? Or as soon as something is posted is it available via search?

I ask this because I have tried several times in the past to search for something that I know contained certain words, and not have it show up in the search results within a few days after it was posted.

The Google Search, yes. It takes time for Google to re-crawl the site.

The Forum Search, no, as it searched the database directly.

However Forum Search is a HUGE load on the database server, so it's use is generally discouraged.

I'm talking about using the search box near the top of the page.

When you say Google search, do you mean going to Google.com and searching that way?

Or am I missing something here?

I see the search box at the top of the page and the search at the very top of the page where it reads Homepage | Contact Us | Search

That search box is a portal to Google, but it restricts results to just PAFOA. (note the logo on the right hand side of the result pages )

When I clicked on the hyperlink, I got the search page that was looking for - Thanks! However, I can't find the button or drop down menu that will open this search page up. Where is it?

That's because the built in forum search feature has been disabled by the Admins. It is too resource intensive for the servers. The direct link still works even though the shortcut link has been removed.
