Default Changing thread titles.

I know that this has been covered and that only the mods can change the title of a given thread but I was wondering if we could modify this to include the following.

When we post new threads that include links or pics of whatever they may be and for some reason they do not work or are invalid it's a small nusance. I was wondering if we could add a button or 2 to the edit post option. These buttons would be able to modify the title only to say "link fixed", "pics added", "Pics fixed" etc....etc.

The OP would not actaully be able to change the actual wording of the title but would be able to let others know that an update has occured, or links and pics were added or fixed.

thanks,

Dave

I also think this would be helpful for the classifieds section so we can write "Sold" in the title so people don't even bother looking at the thread.

I highly doubt this is possible. I'm not too familiar with vBulletin, but as far I'm aware, the only options are to allow user to edit thread titles or not. There's not really an inbetween.

Why not allow title editing? I run 2 boards and we allow members to edit titles...

Just curious as to the reasoning behind not allowing it...

Good question. But I'm sure they have a reason. I was wondering the same thing, we can do it on the other boards I post on.

the same..and at least on the boards I run with different forum software, admins can see what people have edited the threads from and to.
