I have an eerie feeling that sometimes my posts are not actually sticking (I revisit a thread later and where I thought I posted lacks my post.) Normally I would write this off as accidental -- user error, but it feels like this has happened a number of times in only the past few hours.
This is not conclusive; I post as a hint to other users who 'feel' this is happening to them, too. I will be keeping closer track here in the future... Most of my posts seem to be posting correctly. |

I've had that happen.

I've only had that happen a few dozen times (well maybe a lot more).
It is especially bothersome when you are a 2 finger typer/backspacer/typer/backspacer, reread what you typed because you can no longer maintain the thought process for more than a few minutes at a clip(or mag for EM). I try to read through my post and make sure I haven't just misspelled too many words or check the coherency (sp?) of the overall post. Then I hit preveiw, think I submitted the post and move on. By the time I figure out I crapped up the post it just took me 15 min to type, I sometimes don't bother to retype it. I've probably typed 4000 posts already. What was i talking about. Let me preview this again. Hope it posts. 27braindeadhand

You see, what's happening is that the little monkey at the switchboard has to anticipate incoming posts as well as estimate how many posts may be deleted, and calculate how much "post management" he can handle at any given moment.
The moment I log on, the little bugger gets the sweats wondering how he's going to handle the imminent increase in posts. I'm sure he can get the job done if he put his mind to it, but he just gets so nervous. I think he just bumps your posts to make room for mine. I keep telling him that mods should get no special treatment, but you know how ass kissers are. (I don't recall ever having "lost" a post)
