Negative rep.....

Hmmmm -

My ‘negative rep’ cherry has been popped.
I think I got neg rep...At least it's a different color box than all the others.

But I got it for a post that has ZERO controversy in it. Totally neutral – even had a few attaboys in it.

I don't care if I get neg rep....I take all responsibility for what I say - But can it be made mandatory that if Neg rep is given, a reason why/comment should be required? Even if the dude has to type “Get F*CKED”....It's better than an empty neg rep.


I always give comment for the rep I give.
I’ve NEVER given neg rep yet…….It’ll take a lot for me to do that. But If I did – I’ll tell ya why.

I don't think you got negged. Sounds like you got a positive rep from someone who still has "0" rep power (gray box).

Negative rep does require a comment, and will show as a red box.

what color is the little box?
if it's grey...it just means the poster has 0 rep points....

If it's not red, it ain't negative. People with 0 rep or less, or people with less than 50 posts can't contribute to your rep point total, they can just rep you for sentimental value and it leaves a little gray square in there for you.

But I agree, of the rep I get, I always appreciate those with comments more than a blank pat on the back or kick in the ass.

I agree. Neg rep should be for severe reasons only.

Red box is neg. Gray box is neutral.

Members w/less than 50 posts have no rep power so if they rep you (+ or -) the rep is neutral (no points, and the box is gray
