Default What about a "In Self Defense" Forum

Where folks could post threads about either personal self defense stories or links/stories about others who have done so. I've noted that there have been numerous threads like this in the General and other forum so it would make sense to me to have a specific area for these types of posts.

Links to stories are one thing but how do you verify an "it happened to me" story?

What about just a general "self defense" forum. Could include training courses, if people have used their gun, unarmed self defense, news articles, etc.

I realize that this is part of the internet, but I would think that we would have to take people at face value just as we do today. Personally I don't necessarily believe all of those stories but I would need evidence to call someone a liar. Some of the folks on this board I would trust implicitly, others not so much. Its a shame but that is the truth.

Another good idea.

.....Although I just want to throw this out there, ever Goggle your on-line nickname? It should bring up any post made to an open(and as I've found out) private forum.

So your saying what does that have to do with me? Lets say you posted a story about carrying a 30.06 Ghetto Blaster Nut-buster Pistol "Just in case one of those wise guys causes me grief." One day you use it in what you feel to be a justifiable shooting and the other guys attorney or the local D.A. runs your nick on Goggle to see what is floating out there.......wouldn't you if you were charging $200.00 an hour? And hello!!!!! Up pops the post you made years ago. Could that be used against you? Yes. Do you belong to any Gun Clubs or subscribe to any gun mags? And on and on. In the Court Room your made out to be The Anti Christ with a gun.

So to come out of my blanket of paranoia for a moment, if any story might be told it should be a closed case and even then know that it could be re-opened for any reason.

I am not a lawyer but I do like to dress like one.
