pulling my hair out here...screw size to mount a dovetail on a mossberg?
im looking for screws to mount a dovetail on my mossberg, and im not sure what size they are...any suggestions?

so far in the arsenal: yugo 59/66 7.62x39 turkish 8mm mauser marlin 17hm2 canadian enfield .303 british marlin 336 30-30 russian mosin nagant 91/30 traditions .50 cal flintlock type 99 arisaka h&r handi-gun 12mm smoothbore(stamped 1900) mossberg 702 plinkster mossberg 500 12 guage marlin mark I 12 guage FEG PA-63 9x18 makarov

I have no idea what a dovetail is for mounting on a Mossberg shotgun.
But I'm gonna take a wild stab at it and say you are putting on a scope base??????????? If it was factory drilled and tapped, it should be a 8-40 gun screw. If someone else did it... God Knows! 3-56, 6-48, 8-40 3/8-16

When you buy the scope mount for the 500, it will come with the appropriate screws. If you have the mount and no screws, just go see a gun smith. Those guys have tons of screws.
