I have handled quite a few Norinco firearms. Made in China. My opinion of them; JUNQUE

I held one of the Norinco Win-clones at the local gun shop. The employee handed it to me on purpose and said "try to pump it". The action id VERY stiff. I guess it will wear in, and maybe that was just that gun, but it was VERY stiff.
That's all I have to say about that.

Ahhhhhhh.......See i figured that was gonna be the case. I just never held one. Withshotguns, for me, its all about the action of it. Thats why im a fan of the 870's. But i am also a sucker for a unique piece. So maybe ill hold out to buy an actual real winchester version. If anyone knows of one, let me know.

I was doing a bit of research on this shotgun because I wanted a proper term for the type of feed/extraction system it uses. I've shot several very old shotguns with that particular type of pump system, and it's stiffer than the newer stuff that we're used to. It's quite interesting how it all works if you check it out. Anyway, in the process, I came across some warnings for an old 87 lever action shotgun, and it's interesting. I figured I'd throw this in here because it's a very popular and rare shotgun that is having copies made of it. Some of them were made subpar and therefore are a ripoff, so check this out, remember it's for the 87L http://www.gunfighter.com/phpBB2/vie...9a89d9c6ac0320

$1800 for that original one!!! Holy smokes - if it were in better condition - MAYBE. But thats a bit of crazy. I think a more reasonable price would be $1400 or so.
So would there be any ammo constraints on an original Trench Gun? I wouldnt think there should be any real worries, they arent very fragile after all. |

I'm pretty sure as it would go for any normal 2 3/4" chambered gun. Obviously you can't stuff some 3" or now the 3 1/4" mags into it. Some of the older barrels don't like the steel shot so much, but other than that, I bet it'll handle anything.

i don't know were to start.
it's listed as a wwI gun but it's a closer copy to the wwII version. i have the riot model, which is the same gun, just no heat shield/bayo mount. yes the action is stiff while new. i bought in feb a few years, so i spent a weeks just cycling in front of the tube before it was ever fired, that alone loosened it up quite a bit. after the first 100 rds she was broke in nicely. the wood on earlier guns seem to be little more than painted dog crap, though i've heard the newer version are better. mine would fall somewhere in the middle. these guns have a large following the cowboy action circles. as they are a good gun. that can handle being well used. it is a chicom gun, though they did a great job of copying, i've seen it written that original winny 1897 parts will interchange with it like they were made for it. as a side note, they also lack a disconnector like the real ones :read slam fire.these like the originals have only a 2 3/4'' chamber, as long as it's a 2 3/4'' shell, it will handle it. right around $300-$350 is the price range i've seen them in. i'd say go for it. a full load of buckshot makes short work of a 55gallon drum. i take it trap shoting once in a while, that gets the looks.

i have both an originql 18 inch takedown model and one of the norinco trench guns.
the original is much smoother, but it should be when you consider how many shells have been through it. the new one has nice wqood, fit and finish, and shoots well. the only thing i didn't like was the front sling swivel was soft and came off right away. other than that it is a good gun. mpi |
