Chris,

I came back to this post and I STILL can't think of a good way to say how much I like that first photo of your 870 on the bench.

It's a combination of the lighting, the beautiful simplicity of the 870, the tools on the pegboard...

Sounds goofy, but that photo gives me goosebumps the way the sight of Old Glory does when I see her blowing in the breeze.

Makes me proud to be an American.

Ahhh, gotcha. I like the Nova, if I hated one thing in the service it was a rattling rifle, the Nova is about as sturdy as it gets, especially when it comes to shooting the 3.5"s.
