model number? pics? rollstamp info?
Savage bought Stevens many many years ago. Both makes have been favorites in my family.

no model number, has a stamp that looks like an I that is circled. the thing is old, and thats about all i know. its not a 12 ga like it was advertised... and that kind of bothers me. it looks like it, but a shell wont fit. im taking it in today to find out what it is. its bigger than a 20ga, i know that...
ill get pictures soon...

Don't buy any "high brass" for it, it will knock the heck out of you.

yeah, well too late for that... all walmart had was "Remington Express long range" and when you open it up you find that long range means high brass...

I would ask a gunsmith if that shotgun can handle high brass. If its real old i wouldnt shoot the high out of it. chances are it wont blow up but you could crack the stock after a box or 2
