Trap Shooting Shotgun
Ok going to the PMSC gun bash on Sunday and god willing if I get lucky perhaps I can get a kickass new shotgun to shoot trap with. From the people who have been doing this longer than I. What would be an ideal trap shotgun to pickup. I also am real interested in an autoloader if they have any there. Hopefully the good karma of working the gunbash as well as trying to win will pay off.

I have a beretta 686 over and under, which i like.
Ruger makes a decent over under. I have a browning light 12, works well. benneli makes some nice stuff.

I have a Browning BT-99 (12ga) which is strictly a trap gun single shot. The BT99 has slowed my shooting down I hit the birds better, more powder less chips. It fit right out of the box.
I also have a Stoeger Condor supreme over and under(12ga). I use that for Doubles and sporting clays. The Condor is by far the less expensive gun. You can also get the condor as a set 20ga and 12ga. barrels. I had to add a adjustable recoil pad to raise the gun up so it fit better. Grizz

I would recommend a Remington 1100 or 11-87 Premier Trap. I picked up an 11-87 Premier Trap LH two years ago Lightly used for $600. I finally started using it full time this year for my club shoots. I had been using a Mossberg 500a with great results the previous years. The important thing about a trap gun is barrel length and choke selection. Whether you get a Pump, Semi-Auto or Double gun is a matter of personal preference. Find one that fits you the best and that you are comfortable with.

I purchased a Stoeger Condor (3", 12 ga) O/U. It fit me almost perfectly (according to the fitting specialist) off the rack.
It is a decent quality, entry-level firearm. The low-end Condor I purchased is a bottom shooter and has an auto safety every time you open it to load. It is getting the job done for me - which to help me learn the sport and become worthy of a more specialized firearm. The other reason I got it because I can put in a decent Turkey choke and try to take some gobblers. I will also be trying a Rem 870 Express with a 28" barrel next week.
