Default Just bought my first gun and...

I'm looking for some ways to make it "my" gun. I'm looking for a mountable flashlight. Not exactly sure about a side saddle shell holder. Thinking about sending the receiver off to be blued... does anyone have a before and after picture of a blueing? I was thinking about getting a SpecOps... but the gun has very nice wood that it would ruin the look (I think).

Any suggestions?

thanks.

What type of shotgun do you have?

Barrel length?

Intended purpose?

Is the finish worn?

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if you've seen this, but here are a bunch of ideas for "tactical" shotguns:

It's a Remington 870 with a magnum receiver. The barrel used to be 26" but it's being sent away to come down to 18.5". I bought it mainly for self defense, but I do want to start skeet shooting. It's an old riot gun... it's not real shiny but it's not real scratched.

Thanks for the welcome. You guys all seem like nice people. I look forward to what I can learn from all of you.

Hell, you ought to come out to the group shoot- We've got a 5-stand clays setup that's pretty awesome. We would've killed for another shooter downstairs yesterday.

I recently bought my first shotgun, but still deciding if I really want to mess with it...especially after yesterday. Tried a couple of shots that logically shouldn't have worked (too far away) and the clays shattered beautifully. I've no idea what's up with my little $80 wonder, but yeah- shoot it and see how you like it before changing it too much.

I haven't been in a forum in a while. How do you get pictures onto the thread?

You can use an image hosting site like Photobucket, or use the image hosting here on the forum.(near top in blue bar... see "image hosting")

Next Group Shoot is the second Sunday in August, BTW.

So I just shot it today... Oh my gosh. It's a dream. Everything I could've hoped for. Got some clays. At first I sucked. By the end I was getting 5/5.

I definitely think I'm going to get a mag extension first.

Is there any way to condition the wood? Also, I'd really like to make the action smoother, any suggestions?
