There aren't many ranges that allow "tactical" practice of which I am aware.

For my short-barrel'd shotties, I have used the pistol range (with permission) at Water & Wings for patterning buck.
Then I have used the Sporting Clay course at Water & Wings to practice with the same guns but with #8 or #7.5 bird shot. This will give you a ton of practice.
However, if you want to practice for when the zombies attack, there are several 3-gun competitions in PA that you could shoot. Some of these will have side-matches for shotgun only.
The range at Guthsville might allow some freedom in the tactical area but I have not been there yet.
Also, you can take a tactical course like the one that Comtac (sp?) offers in PA.
Some indoor ranges, like Target Master, allow indoor shotgun shooting though I've not done that. It's more like patterning anyway and I'd rather do that outside.
I shot a bunch at the free range in French Creek with my own clay tossers and my short barrel'd guns. With friends along we can get three clays in the air at one time and this can give you some good practice with those open chokes.
No doubt some other folk's will chime in here with some more suggestions.
Mike

Default Re: where do you people practice shotgun

I have 2 private ranges at my disposal.

1 in Clarion

1 near State College.

Both are down in rather deep rock pits, and miles from any house.
