Default Legal/illegal shotguns

Hello,
I'm looking to modify my Remington express super mag 870 a bit. I know that it's ILLEGAL to have anything less than an 18" barrel. What else would be illegal? Pistol grip? Folding stock? 8 round mag?

What about illegal shotgun ammo? I dont know of any.

Thanks in advance for any information!

Overall length of less than 26, too. Who cares about grips...

What sjl127 said above..

Barrel must be 18" or longer measured from the closed breach-face. And overall length must be 26" or longer. Grips, mag extension, heat shields, etc dont matter.

No. 2 son has a Saiga 12-gauge semiautomatic shotgun with folding butt stock, pistol grip and 10-round magazine. He's thinking about getting the 20-round drum magazine. ALL LEGAL IN PENNSYLVANIA

Sweet
What are the specs on collapsible/folding stocks? 26" fully open or 26" at smallest modified point? I hope I made sense there :P

I'm not the most informed on this, but can't you just pay for a tax stamp to legally own one of those?

Yeah. You have 3 options or more...

1. order one thru Serbu & C3 FFL - they will build it from a pistol grip/virgin receiver as an AOW = $5 transfer tax to you + gun costs($600'ish)
2. you can do the same with a pistol grip/virgin receiver and pay a $200 tax for creation of a AOW
3. you can shorten any buttstock shotgun to such lengths and pay a $200 tax for creation of a SBS.
