Perhaps a question here is was the pistol grip on the shotty when sold, or was it purchased seperately and installed later.

http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=1232158 Apparently some asshats sold the guy a pistol when he was 17 also, and IF the report is right, the FFL sold him a pistolgrip shotgun, and didn't keep a record...possibly of a "handgun" sale or something. if he kept no record, they never would have traced the sale... as for "not right", the craps been around since 1968...this is just ATFs interpretation....not sure there WERE actual pistolgripped shotguns in 1968...cutdown birdshead grip yeah, but actual pistolgrips? dunno
