Re: Browning cynergy vs. citori
The Citori is the grandchild of Browning's Superposed shotgun. The Citori has a older "standard" profile receiver. It also has the old school full length hinge pin and inertia triggers. When the first bbl is fired, the recoil sets the second trigger. This can be changed to mechanical triggers by a smith with the correct parts.
The new Cynergy is Brownings attempt to go to the future. The Cynergy features a super low profile receiver keeping the barrels low and more in line with the shooters shoulder. The Cynergy uses the new cam style hinge that is supposedly stronger and smoother. The striker fired Cynergy has mechanical triggers, and uses the space age looking recoil pad and stock. They come with standard or adjustable combs.
Both guns are back bored and use the Invector Plus tubes.
The Cynergy Classic you looked at is the new gun with the "classic" Citori style stock. Many shooters didnt like the Cynergy stock...so Browning makes both.
I really like the Cynergy...and I might look into a Cynergy Classic Sporting with 32" barrels in the future. But I compete with a Citori in 12 gauge, and one in 28 gauge. I have both guns fitted to me, and a lot of money invested. Maybe some day!....
The Citori has been around for a long time now, and is loved in the field as well as on the range. The Cynery is the new kid....but has many fans already.
Buy the one that fits you better from the factory. Not to be rude, but either will out live you. I'm 31 and I bet mine will out live me.
Browning puts their name on a quality O/U.
