Looking for a shotgun for home defense

The Mossberg shotgun I own has two action bars and most that I've looked at have two as well. Maybe you had one of the "Maverick" brand ones that are a discount Mossberg. Not sure about that.

i have a winchester 1300 defender it hold 7 rounds plus one in the hole with pistol grips on both ends and an 18" barrle on it. most peoples house are to tight for even a short shotgun like this, there just to tight to be real movable. I might suggest something like a taurus Judge. just my feelings on this and this gun writer feelings to.http://www.northcarolinasportsman.co...ils.php?id=577

Taurus does their commercials with the birdshot in the judge but same deal...birdshot won't do much for self defense and you don't get much out of the buckshot. I'd stick with a shotgun/rifle and a handgun backup. Of course that's completely up to each individual. A gun is better than NO gun, but you can make better choices than others. Just don't assume that if it's a shotgun you don't have to aim. At most room distances your spread will be pretty unforgiving.
