I'm guessing this is the single shot break open shotgun? If so, it is one of the most affordable, reliable, useful firearms you could ever own.

They work, work well, and will most likely work for a long time to come. Nothing fancy about them, but you are getting every penny you pay for, IMHO.

Only thing I have against the 12 guages is I think they kick like a mule. In the NEF single shots, I much prefer the 20 guage, which is a buttload of fun.

I've had one going on 2 years now, bought it with the longer barrel and sawed it down to make a great HD gun. I think for the pardner pump i payed like 150

My neighbor has one. It's a nice little gun for the money. I've shot it a few times, there's nothing more that I would ask for in that price range.
It's small, light, easy to handle, the wood looks pretty nice, and the trigger isn't terrible. What more could you want?
In November his step-son won 2 or 3 prizes at our club's block shoot with it. It's a modified choke and he was beating guns that were full, extra full and adjustable chokes.
My opinion: If it feels good in your hands and your wallet can tolerate the price, buy it.

the one I was looking at was a pump. black stock.

Looked just like a Rem 870 for about half the price
