Default SPAS-12

I have a Special Purpose Assualt Shotgun-12 from Franchi that I bought for just over $300 back in the early 80's, (SPAS-12). It has the folding stock, the hook and the 8+1 Magazine tube and the choke tube tool.

What I don't have are the chokes. Franchi just doesn't make them anymore since about the 90's.

I have looked and looked on line. So I need your help finding AT LEAST the full choke tube.
Or
Is there is another way to choke the barrel with an adapter?
Please write: DukeScout@aol.com Thanks!

Contact http://www.briley.com/ I'm fairly sure they can make you any choke you want for your Spas. It probably won't be cheap. There is the possibility that the Spas tubes are the same as another mfg's tubes, Briley will know.

Thanks Brother, I wish I could find the originals but I guess I could get by during turkey season by getting a made full choke.

Thanks again!

Could you use steel shot?

Steel usually needs a more open choke to produce patters comparable to lead shot in a tighter choke. Example.....steel shot in a mod choked gun often shoots like a full choked lead shooting gun.

Lycanthrope, thanks for the tip, when all else fails, I'll have to go for that option.

Kaos, Thanks for your input. It was weird, my pharmacist bought the new building from the son of the old owner and the FFL came with the building so he ordered stuff for me at wholesale.

Hard to require one of those puppies. From what I've heard they only produced a limited amount. I guess I want the Spas for it's collectibility. I've never handled one before so from the rumors i've heard, it's not very easy to lug around. I guess as far as "new technology" goes, the Super 90 kicks its ass.

It's heavy as hell. But there is no shotgun like it for it's intimidation during riots! It's a good door buster too but so are all of the others.

I have used it for duck, rabbit, squirells, phesant, partridge and dove and even door busting, and it works great. The spread is a little to big for turkey, I'll have to try steel shot, I hear it brings the grouping together.

I haven't used rubber shot for riots, or tear gas rounds but I'm sure it would work great. I have used ALL KINDS of specialty shot though, flame, beehive, flachette, Bird Bomb, exploding, etc. Works GREAT. Needs a good strong load or it will missfeed sometimes.

Still ... most other shotguns will do the same. THIS ONE just looks different. I DO LOVE IT!
