wouldn't wone of these severely affect the velocity? And besides, if you want something short and handy that will spread out, then cut down an old side by side (to no less than 18 inches unless you're paying the tax of course)...

That would be "Wabbits" in proper Warner Brothers/Mel Blanc vernacular.

Certainly, but not enough to compromise performance. They were very lethal.

MPI- Interesting. I assume you've been the the Renaissance Faire, then?

I teach a short seminar on early Pennsylvania gunmaking history in our local elementary schools (details - see "outline" link on the left) and I'm keeping the exhibits within the 18th century. Yes, a modern side by side or even Serbu shorty would perform better, but would also be an anachronism. Thus, the blunderbuss.

Along similar lines, please let me know if anyone has a 1763 or 1766 Charleville musket repro available. I have seen Pedersoli, Loyalist and Military Heritage.

Glad I saw this header! (blunderbus?)

I almost started a post about this crazy thing!
Just saw it in a magazine and went to the website tonight...
THAT is FUNNY!

Did y'all click on the other "inventions".

LOVE the toilet opener/closer thing-a-ma-jig!

When I saw that, I knew that the House Gun MUST be a wildly successful idea as well!

as good ole Elmer would say...kiwl da wabbit, kiwl da wabbit, kiwl da wabbit!

I do see an advantage...if a new shotgunner has a problem leading a jackrabbit in full trot, there's enough scatter with one of them barrels that no way a rabbit would get away...hahahahahahahaha!!!

My Uncle was a serious gun collector. He had two antique Blunderbuss hangling on the wall that he kept loaded. Even though they were valuable, I remember as a kid shooting one of them behind the house. We filled it up the same way it would have been loaded in the day. To not damabe the barrel anymore than necessay, we used a handfull of buttons as bullets. They made a mighty serious hole in the target. We were only about 12 feet away, so the spread was gigantic.
A home defense weapon? That's what they were created for.
