Default FYI: Knoxx SpecOps for Rem 870

My unit was sent a Remington 870, 14 inch barrell entry gun equiped with the SpecOps on Friday. On Sunday I took it to the range and with low brass loads found that the stock slid forward covering the trigger and safety making any follow-up shots impossible.

On Monday I removed, realligned, and remounted the stock, then immediately went to the range. The gun fired fine with low brass and reduced recoil 00 buck. With reduced recoil slug the stock jammed in the same manner. A call to tech support confirmed that this problem does exist with ONE batch of SpecOps for the Remington model. Knoxx Industries will replace any defective stocks free of charge.

MORAL of the story....Test your weapons before you need them.

Photo's of the 870 before and after Mondays test shoot:

Sorry Sgt...that was a great looking gun!

I did want one of those stocks for my Mossy, but I think I will go for the non recoil dampening version.

hmm, hope that doesn't happen with mine, I just installed it yesterday.

however, by leaning on it HARD i can cycle the recoil system, and it doesn't stick.

we'll see.

Thumbs up Re: FYI: Knoxx SpecOps for Rem 870

i have a breacher's grip on a rem marine magnum and a 870 express. LOVE them both. feels great and with the hand's all grip sleeve on em , the br's grip's are reall sticky ,grippy. knoxx is great. enjoy the spec ops stock. no body is perfect all the time. and yes you can be somewhat accurate with a one handed shot.
