I stopped in when they 1st opened some time years ago when I still operated my own gunshop in Avoca, PA ( Competitive Gunfire ). I was there to spie on the new guy in town.
I wasn't impressed with the pricing back then. BreakFree CLP 4 oz. for $ 7.25 a bottle, when I was selling it for only $ 5.00 in my shop. Gander Mtn, Dicks and Dunhams should stick to selling general sporting goods ( non-gun) and /or camping supplies. I do however miss "Sugerman's" |

Likewise the Gander Mountain in Vestal, NY (closest to me). Not only are the prices higher, but they rarely have what I want!

I agree, Gander Mt, Dick's, etc....all their prices are insane. Very seldom do I ever buy something from either of those stores, maybe something small, etc. I would never buy powder, bullets, etc from them.

I picked up a Beretta shotgun from Gander Mountain in Dickson City about 5 months ago. Their gun prices are negotiable! I was looking at several shotguns and comparing them to the Beretta, the price kept getting better until I finally gave in.

Ya yes, Gander Mountain..... I noticed many of their used guns are more than our new ones..

I know this is a bit late into the conversation but had to throw it in..
@ months ago I was down at this GM. in dickson city/scranton. They have a vulcan arms V94. It is a MP5 looking clone but not a good clone. Anyhow this gun BRAND NEW is 1200.00.. They have it in as a used gun on trade for 1500.00.. They tried the ol well we go by book value on our prices. So I made the guy trying the sale aware of the 1200. price for NIB. He said oh I have no idea. Well 2 months have gone by, went in and low and behold....The gun is still there. So I take another look and flip over the tag, I almost passed out.. The tag now says $1695.00, they could not sell it at 1500 so raise the price $200.00??? What the heck are they thinking.. They also had a SOCOMII for $2000.. I know of dealers selling em NIB for 1500.00.. I cant figure out this hairbrained pricing plot.. Snert.. Chris-Advancedarms, How recent is the showroom pic you have on your site?? I might have to stop in to peak around. I see a few items I am interested in... Last edited by Snert : October 16th, 2007 at 09:25 AM. |

Bought a used Beretta 84 w/night sites 3 hicap mags & a leather shoulder rig for $389 at Gander Mtn in Chambersburg Pa. for what I thought was a very good price. Cheaper than I could find it on the net.

if you're in the scranton area, there are 2 spots to check out:
1. bill's sporting goods in scranton, it's located on n. main and w. market street. 2. gun toter's supply, right off of rt 6 in eynon. turn right at the light before the old sugerman's. both shops are great, in terms of service and prices. bill's doesn't have a big selection, but they can order whatever you'd like. i've gotten a couple of pieces there, and oftentimes i'll stay longer than i planned to, talking to the owners. |

I buy everything I can from Bills, and have been for years. Selection is hit and miss on used, you have to stop often because if you don't, chances are I'll snatch whatever comes in
It's not the place to go expecting to pick up a new tacticool weapon-o-the-month, but I did walk out one night with a bushmaster m4gery for $650... |
