Default Re: Ace Sporting Goods question...

i've had pretty good luck in bravermans over the last 15 years or so, markle's isn't bad, but prices aren't particularly special, but not bad. federal has the highest prices for a transfer in the area. jack at gunrunner in cannonsburg is a geat guy, i've had him accept out of state trades for me on a lot of occaisons.

anthony's is REAL expensive, particularly on used guns. they have a $5 grab bag box that often has good buys in it. if you absolutely HAVE to have smething right now it's a good place. the so called gunsmith they have there is an asshole and not very good. doesn't really know his own business. also , i have had anthony's lie to me 7 or 8 times when i asked them if they had something in stock, after i made the trip out there, i was told that they could order it, but didn't have it now???

the owner of guns unlimited in bridgeville is currently awaiting prosecution for aggravate3d assault and possibly attempted murder for shooting a guy who was nice enough to drive him from from a drinking party at the guy's house.

I have bought a lot of guns from ACE over the last 26 years and the last gun I bought at another shop due to the cost. $200 less at the other shop.
Now this was an exception. ACE's inventory is probably the best selection bar non for at least 200 miles around Pittsburgh. That is new and used. I have never had a problem with a gun that wasn't corrected on the spot.
Sometimes paying a little more for better service is worth it. I remember walking in looking for one gun and walking out with something completely different that I liked better. One gun comes to mind a Browning HP. The Browning is my absolute favorite. I walked in looking for a Smith&Wesson 9mm. I walked out with High Power with Aluminized Finish, Pachmayr grips, combat sights and the gold trigger.

Sportsman's Warehouse at Mount Nebo Pointe (Camp Horne Road exit off I-279 pkway North) carries guns as well. I don't know if they negotiate, since they're a big box retailer, but their prices seemed competitive when I checked there.

And no kidding about Braverman's -- the neighborhood looks like it's a demilitarized zone. Theirs is the only storefront that looks like it's well-maintained and doing good business!

I'm looking buying a S&W model 60 in 357MAG.

Ace wants $594.88

Sportsman Warehouse wants $529.00

Buds Gunshop wants $479.68
