Default Dry Tavern Service info?

Hey All...........

Anyone have any information, opinions, comments, etc. on Dry Tavern Service is Rices Landing, PA?

Saw them at the show in H-burg today and they had some pretty respectable prices on their handguns. Guns were new in the box, but some of them just had that used look and grime to them.

Just curious since I was interested in buying from them.

I suppose it could be. The card I have says Service, but if it's the same town my guess would be that it's the same store.

You guy are thinking of the same thing. It has been a few years since I have been there but they usually had a good selection and were pretty good to deal with. I'm not sure but I think that I may have changed hands a few years ago. It still seems to be going strong though. One of the few gun shops left in Greene county.

Dry Tavern is served by the Rices Landing post office

If thats the same as the True-value Hardware, they were pretty good and very polite. I purchased my Walther P99 from that place at about $40 less than Ace's in Washington. The are located at the intersection of SR88 and SR188 in Dry Tavern.

Now, there is another sporting goods place in Dry Tavern too just north on SR88. I think its called Ozie's Sport Shop. ...A little white building on the east side of the road. I never went there, but I did hear good about them.

If the "Dry Tavern Service" is some place else - I'd be clueless. I dont remember much of anything in the Dry Tavern/Rices Landing/Jefferson area.

I have purchased a few things from them at the shows and they are bad to deal with. I got a .22 six-shot off of them and a 9mm. I had to return the 9mm back to the company but thats nothing against them. They always have a good selection and there prices aren't bad at all.

They used to have the best prices around on reloading supplies. I haven't reloaded in a while, so I can't say now.

I have not purchased from them but have been hunting with the owner a couple of times and with his father in law many times. They seem to be good people.

So the 1911 I bought from them at a show should be NIB as they said and I should have confidence that I've had a good transaction?

I got a nice price......lowest at the show and they were decent guys. I just had an uncomfortable feeling that I may have been getting a used gun even though they assured me everything was legit.

I'm just not a trustworthy person.

I dont understand the mystique of the new/used gun thing..

Unless you're buying a $10-30K Parker Brothers shotgun or something along the lines - your "new" gun will have no more value than a "used" one if they are in same condition.

And ALL guns are used guns seeing how they are proof fired by the factory.
