Men,

We're on SATURDAYS now, and forever more.

January's event will have a pistol stage. Please bring a serviceable combat handgun with a STRONG SIDE HOLSTER, and at least 20 rounds of ammo in addition to the ordinary gear specified on the LRGC Practical Rifle Page:

http://langhornerodandgunclub.org/practicalrifle/

A question came up on single/3point/2point slings during non-firing portions or relays.

If you are going to use a sling for carry purposes:

* You must employ a chamber flag that is large and plainly visible
* Muzzle must be oriented DOWN, and the firearm must be tight to you
* Magazine removed
* Safety ON
* Firing hand away from the grip and trigger area
* Re-Orient it if you are bending, turning or twisting
* Voluntarily and continually Show RSO's you are in compliance

Provided each of these is followed without fail, I have no problem with safe movement in this condition because it is tantamount to a holster.

If you want to shoot a precision rifle, there's a separate CoF for you. Some events will pit you against the practical guys too this year. If you've ever attended our precision events or the clinic, you know to be ready for anything.

Precision course is 45 rounds, plus 20 from sidearm.

Practical course is around 75 rounds with 15 of them at 50Y (get rid of the cheap ammo here).

See you guys later in the month.

Do you mean to say that 15 round are at 50 yards and the remainder are further or that the remainder are closer?

Is this open to non-members? I'm actually leaning towards joining, but may not be able to manage that before the 26th. Also, that would be the ideal time to check out your range.

Absolutely the intent of the post.

If it's posted here on the open forum, from LanghorneRodandGunClub.org , it's because we are INVITING like minded, safe, individuals to an event we are hosting.

There IS a differential pricing...my members get a break on the cost, non members cost includes our "day pass rate" that is usually only available for three visits under the immediate supervision of a member.

SO this is the BEST way to try us out ans see what we got.

Hope you come out!

Pacer
President.

Btw, just so I can prepare: the "end of course" routine is: drop mag from rifle, clear chamber, put in chamber flag, safety on, then sling so that muzzle is down? And pistol stays in holster, as is?

This is a event you do not wanna miss!
40+ people at last event, and you definitely are not gonna be shooting from the "bench", so bench-potatoes beware!

I'm leaning towards making this event.

Unless weather is real foul, or some emergency pops up.

The remaining rounds would be fired from a futher distance out to a maximum of 200 yards. Please note we have upgraded the 50 yard round count from 15 to 30.
