I have 2 Mosin rifles that I haven't fired yet, but that will change tomorrow.
I'll get back to you with my opinion of the recoil, accuracy and muzzle flash, I already know about the length and other comparisons.

i own an m-44 and i love it. it's by far the most accurate rifle i've ever shot. they are dead on about the recoil though.

I always get a kick from that one......
I've found that the Mosin carbines tend to kick alittle harder then the rifles, but they are still a blast to shoot...

That comparison makes me laugh every time I read it. My favorites are (regarding the Mosin Nagant):

You can knock down everyone else's target just from the shock wave of your bullet going downrange.

Your sight adjustment goes to 12 miles and you've actually tried it.

You dig your ammo out of a farmer's field in Ukraine and it works just fine.

Your rifle's accessory is a small tin can with a funny lid, but its buried under an apartment building somewhere in Budapest.
