how do you put on a FF tube

Thinking of putting a free float tube on my AR.
I assume I will need some sort of tool that I cant remeber the name of now.

How is it done ?

It's pretty easy.

You'll have to remove your handguards, then your fsb/gas tube.

Then loosen your barrel nut, then youll slide the new barrel fastener in place and tighten it down, then youll position your FF tube and then use it's tightening ring to lock it in place.

buy a quality action block to lock up the action in a vice. You'll need a special wrench to remove the barrel nut and install the new barrel nut. Punches and hammers for fsb and gas tube pin.

Like Kaos said, remove handgaurds, remove fsb, remove gas tube.

Remove barrel nut.

Clean threads on upper receiver. install barrel and slide on new barrel nut. Use an anti-seize on the threads. Tighten barrel nut. I used a torque wrench to tighten the nut to minum spec, then keep tightening until the hole in the barrel nut lines up with the hole in the reciever for the gas tube. You want to make sure that the gas tube doesn't bind up on the carrier key.
