Um.... no..

My rusted, rattle can painted, torch burnt stocked, $20 Marlin model 60 can do the same thing as that $570 22rf.

$570 can get me a gun that will make bigger holes.

I'll chime in.
Is it worth $570? Well the answer is what's it worth to you...
Do I personally think its worth that much...
Well its pretty damn fun to shoot but I wouldn't pay that much for it when it could be had for $100+ less.
I paid less than $400 for mine (I had some gift cards) and believe it was well worth every penny...
Anyone that owns one or has shot one would probably agree!
I already have my share of ars, aks and whatever so I wanted something different...
Something I can shoot all day for practically nothing and something that looks bad-ass doing so.
Its a plinkin gun... Its made for fun and it brings me fun...
So how much is that fun worth to you...?

German Sport Guns makes airsoft guns. I think the GSG5 is one of their MP5 clones with 22lr guts inside.

Worth $500? That depends on the person buying it I suppose. If you really got a stiffy for an MP5 and want something fun to shoot I say go for it and have a blast.

I'll take my Ceiner kit and blackdog mags in my ARs though.

People who have GSGs spent the money, and I've been hearing a lot of good stuff from other owners. I just shot mine for the first time yesterday, and it's a fun gun that's inexpensive to shoot and different than anything else I've already got.

John at Seneca Arms hooked me up with mine, and if I hadn't squandered the money on this gun, I would have pissed it away on something stupid like vegetables, socks, or suntan lotion.

i was playing with one at the shop tonite. i'm about two steps from throwing downing on it. worth it? probably not. but they look neat, shoot a dirt cheap round and just look like a good time.
but's still just a .22.
it is a .22.

i don't know. maybe if i screw around long enough somebody else will buy it.....

Making bigger holes isn't the point, its about making lots and lots of tiny holes in cans and bottles and this MP5 clone makes it even more fun and looks good doing it.
A new model 60 runs about 140 at walmart don't they? FWIW I wouldn't buy a GSG5 for 570 either, I was happy to find mine for 460 and wouldn't pay more than that.

Regarding the airsoft-gun-quality comment; if you handle those high-end airsoft guns they ARE made completely out of metal and are quite robust and usually cost 400 bucks and up. Besides, its not like you need heavy forged internals for a .22

Obviously I'm all for this gun but I understand the guys who would never pay that much for a .22, to each his own!

I shot my buddies GSG, it functioned just fine, but I personally would buy another Calico M-100 for around $350 instead of plunking down $500+ for the GSG.
