Question Should I buy this AR-15

Hi, I know very little about these weapons and wondering if this is a good deal.
The gun: 5.56 AR-15 16"barrel, he says the gas system is based on a longer barrel version. $650.00
The gun is a couple of years old and I remember him buying it piece by piece.
I am looking for a gun to shoot woodchucks and coyotes at 200 to 250 yrds.
Thanks

I'm not sure what brand it is. Would a mini30 (7.62x39) be a better gun for general plinking(I can get that one for free).

free is always the right price

the general complaint on the mini series of rifle is their innacuracy as compared to the AR platform.
From what I know mags for the 30 series are hard to come by (good working ones) in anything but the factory 10 rounders. 7.62x39 ammo is still reasonabley priced, that a plus.

Is it ironsights? Any quad rail? If it's just a standard M-4....that's not a bad price depending on condition! You won't have any problems with the coyotes.

Sounds like a decent price to me...

Is it legal to hunt with a semi in Illinois? I know it isn't in PA!

$650.00 for a home built Ar thats a few years old, is a lil high for me. But if its in good condition, and the parts are made by a good company then I would say its not a bad idea.
