This stuff is expensive! i definately need to get into reloading. twenty rounds of those remingtons was 34 bucks. They had hornady 168 grain match ammo, but that was like, 50 bucks.

I think I'm going to get the remmington accutip 165 grain for next time. Something I can actually hunt with. These match rounds dont expand. That accutip stuff is hunting ammo. We'll see how it goes. Surely 3 grains wont throw it off that much.

I don't want to sound like an ass buddy, but those aren't 1/4 moa boxes. I'm pretty sure that those are 1" boxes, so at 100 yards they are 1 moa boxes. That's why you have to multiply by 4. Because you have 1/4 moa turret adjustments, so every 4 clicks is 1". At 400 yards, those would be 1/4 moa boxes, but at 100 yards, they are 1 moa boxes. Hope that helps you understand why you need as many clicks as you do. The rifle looks like a shooter, you should be pleased with it. Just need some dry firing and getting used to your ammunition, and you'll be good to go. The good consistent ammunition is expensive, lol, that's why all LR guys reload. You get better stuff, for way less money. Keep it up.

Glad it all worked out for you! Nice groups.

As for reloading, I'm in the same boat. I've been using Black Hills 175gr match and can usually find it for about $26.00 a box. Just this year I put 450 rounds through the rifle, or about $585. Price of admission to a rifle match, 150 rounds of ammo, gas, food, and the rifle doesn't look so expensive anymore.

Sort of takes the sticker shock off the price of the rifle.

I've got two coffee cans full of my .308 brass. This winter I think I'll go find a nice reloading kit, portable reloading stand from Midway, and start reloading.

Congrats on the rifle!

Tell me about what it costs to shoot a .308. Right now about 35-40 cents per round reloaded. $20 per fifty basically plus your time.
If I hadn't shot the wad on a new LR toy. I got such a deal I just couldn't pass the gun up. I'll post pictures when I get a chance to take them.
I would be the new owner of a Anschultz 64MP R. 1/4 to 1/3 inch groups at 50 yards.
I'll have to wait until the spring for that.
I want more trigger time with out the cost of .308 ammunition. A lot of the long range guys I have run across use either a .223 or .22lr for practice due to lower cost ammunition. BTW there is nice Savage .223 just posted in the classifieds. Find a nice used heavy barreled .22 or .223 and use it as you main practice rifle.

Set your rifle up in a good rest or sandbags, and then push down the bolt stop and pull the bolt completely out of the rifle. Get back a little ways from the rifle and adjust it so that while you're looking down the bore it is on target. If you're further back it makes it a little more accurate. Look through the scope and it will probably not be centered on the target. Being careful to not disturb the rifle, dial in your scope so that the crosshairs are on the bullseye and you can see the target in the bore. This is where the term "bore sighting" comes from I believe. Then you can fire your shot, see where it hits, and dial accordingly like Roland mentioned. Just something that might help you out and does work.
DITTO on the boresight, that is a 2 round sight in,one of the easiest and fastest way to set up your scope, and by the way congratulations loudcherokee with your new savage, enjoy the little rascal......
