Default Savage, just plain savage

I shot this group about a year or so ago with my Savage 110. I bought it as a package deal with a Simmons 3x9 scope for in the ball park of $550 or so.

So here's the 100 yd target, the gun was just out of the box, not even 50 rounds through it, and sitting on some old sandbags. I hadn't shot anything, not so much as a spitball in about 7 years.

Edit: Ammo used here was Federal Power-Shok 130grain el-cheapo stuff I bought at Wal-Mart for like $18 a box.

Ask and ye shall receive ....

Its the one on the bottom, scope is off it for now. The one on top is my grandfathers Savage 99, the middle one is Dads 11 and my 110 on the bottom.

And yes, I did give Dad a hard time about buying a plastic gun!

mine: (sorry, no pics) Savage 111G chamber in .25-06 wearing a Simmons ProHunter 6 - 21 x 44 scope w/ 1 in 10 twist; shooting Winchester 90gr Positive Expanding Point Super-X ammo -- 4 shot groups: @ .75" at 100 yards & just below 2" at 200 yards; good enough for groundhogs & other lightweight pesky critters

I've said it B4, I'll say it again. I think that Savage is THE BEST bargain on the market. I don't know who else is copying their barrel/reciever assembly process (simple and what makes Savs so accurate out of the box), but for price and accuracy who beats 'em?
