Slant brakes are typically a bit loose. I have four AKs with slant brakes and they all wobble. The detent pin holds them in place, don't worry.

All the slant brakes I've seen have wiggled.

Cool...I thought so, but I just wanted to poll the collective AK conscious!

Day late and a dollar short as always.
I was worried when I first got my WASR, same thing, it jiggled. I put it on and took it off like 3 times before I was convinced it was supposed to be that way, the detent will hold it in place

well just to make it a consensus I checked my Yugos and yes they jiggle a bit too

I picked up a WASR about a month ago now and I did the same thing you just did in about the same amount of time... Shot it a bunch and god damn it the break stayed in place so figured it was all good... My dumb ass didn't even think about asking... You are a better man than me.... LOL -A

Most of the slant brakes I've seen have some concentric play, meaning the dentente pin allows a little angular movement, but not a lot. I agree, this is very common. I usually apply a little automotive grade anti-seize to help keep corrosion & fouling from forming there.
I also experienced an early Norinco AKS that also had slant brake longitudinal wobble, and eventually it shot off at the range. The problem was excess thread clearance inside the brake.
