Default Oh heck, I created a monster

I've mentioned before that I have kids ages 9 and 12 that like to go to the range with me. I alternate so I can provide better supervision while we shoot. Tonight, for the first time in my life, I used a recoil pad (It was made by Past). Well, my 12 yr old daughter asked if she could try shooting the Mosin 91/30 with the shooting pad. A stripper clip later, she is excited, telling me how cool it was, and that she wanted to try the K98 as well. LOL She shot 10-15 rounds out of each rifle and now wants to try all the old WWII guns. Before tonight, she never ventured past the SAR2 or AR but now she's a tough guy who only wants the big guns. She now wants to wear it under her shirt and have me video her shooting so she can put it on YouTube to show her friends.

It would have made for a great advertisement for the folks at "Past".

For all you guys picking up the Mosins, I highly recommend it. I was hitting much more consistantly tonight, not anticipating the mild dislocation each round.

I have my rifle. Do you?

Had a similar reaction from #2 daughter* after firing an our old M16 for the first time. She wanted to splash the video link everywhere, including stuff at school. Might not be a great idea...13 year old girl, M16, ...

At the Bellwood Sportsmans Club we have a High Power Shooter that is using an M4 with collapsible stock. She fired one match last year at age 8, and has fired in every match this year at age 9. I have refrained posting photos of her on the web, although I have posted photos and her name shooting a BB gun. I have thought about talking to her father about posting pics of her taken at the next match. I think a photo or video might be a good thing. It would show a young lady using a firearm in a well regulated, safe environment.

That is awsome!!! I hope my kids share my interest in guns when they get older! Happy and Safe shooting with the family.
