Default 2 New Savage .308's

A Model 12 F-TR, and a Model 10 FP, both are in .308. I picked both of them up yesterday. Now the fun begins with scope and mount selection, along with putting it all together. I've got some .308 handloads, but I've got nothing but time to hit the press and try and come up with some type of meal they'll both like. I won't be doing any serious shooting with either of them until the Fall when these temperatures break a little. I've got high hopes for the both of these guns, and they are the first Savage bolt guns I have bought. In all of the years I've been seeing them at the range, I really haven't seen a bad one, or an unhappy owner for that matter. Bill T.

Sweet rifles. I'm hanging with the old stuff since it so much cheaper but I would love to have something like those for shooting with the kids.

I purchased a Savage 110 'package' in .270 last year for deer hunting. A simple Simmons 3-9 scope came with it.

At 100 yards I was able to get 3 round groups just over the size of a quarter. I hadn't shot anything since '97.

Amazing accuracy at an affordable price.

For a box stock rifle, they do have a good reputation for shooting well. Bill T.

I have the 10fp 24 inch barrel .308. I have a leupold vxii 4-12x scope. Incredible gun and accuracy.

I will second or third that.

Bought a youth in .243, combo with the Simmons scope, a real nice rifle and very accurate. Price wise couldn't beat it. The accu-trigger once you set it up how you want it is really nice also.

Savage is A-1 in my book.

I hear that a lot. I hope I'm as fortunate as the rest! Bill T.
