Default Why no more Yugo AKs?

OK, another stupid question from the king of stupid questions. Why are there 'no more' Yugo AK-47s? I have bought two of them this month and love them and I keep hearing 'there are no more' ... is it just because there is no more Yugoslavia, has the company shut down? The one dealer in Allentown even told me the price from the wholesaler has gone up to $50 over what he was selling his at (which is in fact $50 over what I paid two weeks ago)

Well... there is no more Yugoslavia. I wouldn't be surprised to see some new entries to the market, especially as more and more people join the EU and that super-highway to the US market.

I'm pretty sure all the yugo's were old stuff left over and put back together for US market.

Default Re: Why no more Yugo AKs?

actually, theres no more Yugo Aks for one very specific reason:

We (Klinton/The USA) "accidentally" blew up the Yugo AK plant during the Serb/Croat/Yugo UN action over there in teh 90s.

The Plant was the Zavodi Crvena Zastava Plant, known as the RED Banner Works, it was destroyed by US bombing in 1998

no more Zavasta plant means no more yugoslavian AKs

i heard that the kits just ran up, but that that doesn't mean more won't be imported in the future... just what i heard at a couple shows.

....but given that the plant went kaboom, there must be a point where there really will be 'no more'
