Default ar 15 barrel ?'s

Ok so I ordered a complete upper with rra upper and car 16" hbar w/yhm midlength handguards w lopro gas block. This hides the gas block under the handguards. Ok cool. But wait they called and said they are out of car hbars and want to change up to a midlength hbar and give me longer yhm handguards to hide the gas block as originally intended. Heres my ? how much further down the bbl will the gas block be moved on a midlength bbl? The next size up in yhm handguards is the specter length and they are only approx. .5 inch longer that the midlength. Will that be enough to conceal the gas block on a midlength bbl or will they have to go up to the rifle length. I'm just tryin to get an idea of what the finished product will now look like.

Thanks

I think the usual standard handguard length is about 7.2 inches for the carbine and the middy handguards come out to 9.5 inches. So....just over two and a quarter inches difference?

I have a mid length RRA with standard mid length handguards and a standard front sight. I just pulled off my handguards and measured it. From the front of the upper to the back of the front sight is 9 1/4 inches.

If the Specter length YHM handguards are only half an inch longer than the mid length, it doesn't look like they'll completely cover your gas block.

You may be out of luck. I'm not sure anyone makes a rail longer than the Specter but shorter than a full size, but I could be wrong.

Thanks Lycan, so if they use a midlength barrel with midlength handguards the gasblock won't be hidden under the handguards and I doubt going to the 1/2" longer Specter length handguards would hide it either then. So I guess they would have to use rifle length handguards to conceal the gasblock then? So instead of this which is what I originally ordered:

I would end up with something like this:

thanks
