I have a bone stock Mini-14 and like it for what it is. Yours does look pretty radical, I must say. Cool. You mentioned in an earlier post that the stock was "tight" and that it may help accuracy. I don't fully understand that. Again, neat looking Mini-14.

Wow .. this post has been resurrected. I forgot I even had a mini!
![]() Range Report: nothing yet, been too busy with my latest toys (check the NFA or Gun Pics section) and battling an identity theft situation. Fun. JD: thanks .. yes, the rifle was a gift so I'm not sure I'd spend the cash on a mini myself, but since I had it, well ... you know. Stooper: I hear you on the mags. I have found one aftermarket mag that seems to work well and actually fully seats and stays in place. National is the company. Available at Cabelas. Mine all lock solid and cycle rounds nicely but back to point 1: no range time with the mini yet so I can't 100% vouch for them. Jules: with my original wooden stock the receiver sat nowhere near as tight as it does with this stock. You could find play in it by hand if you tried with the OEM stock. Will the difference be noticeable on the mini? Probably not but every millimeter helps. My point was that less play leads to improved accuracy. So ... yeah, the fact that my other rifles have made it to the range before the mini might be an indicator of exactly how much I love it when everything is put back into perspective. I'm sure it pales in comparison to my AR's as far as accuracy goes but it is nice to be able to show up with something different when I feel the urge. Look on any message board and you will get the "it is what it is" and the "it's no AR" comments and I am certainly not saying that everyone should run out and buy one. I get bored quickly and also believe that if you aren't a bad-ass, you should at least look like one
