Default What is a good group for a .22 @ 100 yds

I think the title explains it all,\
And that is with off the shelf .22 bulk ammo, None of that fancy expensive stuff, Something like remington thunderbolt for 25 bucks for a brick or less.
With whatever scope you had.
Just wondering how I am doing at 100 yards, Not 75, not 50, But at a full 100 yards,
At 50 is easy to group 1"
Thanks for your imput!
Peter.

Well, an a-23 target has a 3/8" x-ring and a 7/8" 10 ring but that is a 50yd std target for 22 shooting. A typical 100yd target is called an SR-1, which I believe it has a 3/4" x-ring and a 1.5" 10 ring. To answer you question, if you benchrest your rifle and it shoots in a 10-ring size group, you got a good choice in ammo. If not, try one that will produce those results. Hope that helps.

A good realistic group for any rifle out of the box is about 1-1.5 inches MOA. If you get a rifle that can do that from a rest, your good to go.

semiauto or lever gun, I'd say 2.5" groups is fine.
For bolt or single shot, 2.0" should be good.

This is with bulk ammo, mind you.
