I wanted to say thanks everyone for the tips. This is a great website. Lycanthrope, I wanted to say I originally hail from mercer co. Moved out here 23 yrs ago, and was fortunate to have met someone from northern Missouri where there are lots of deer, and even more turkey. Heck, I even had turkey in the front yard. And I live in the city.
Good hunting....

I'm jealous......hunting has gotten harder back here in the last 10 years.

I see that, and hear that it has, what with anlter restriction and who knows what all else. We hunted the Whig Hill/Kelletville area and because of that reason, (and maybe age catching up with them), friends have sold off their property and only hunt a couple farms east of Mercer.
anyways, this new Tikka, can't wait to break it in.

I was going to suggest a long drill bit hooked up to a Makita but I guess it's a mute point now. But if you want to afix a scope I found Gorilla Glue works just fine. Even better than duct tape even. Speaking of which, I actually saw someone mount a laser pointer with electrical tape to a pistol, one of the cheap dog toy pointers with the button taped down. Best part is the barrel was tapered.
