Default Ned needs a new toy. Which?

I can only afford one new toy a year and I'm worried that future laws may prevent me from aquiring certain new toys. I'm in the mood for a fun gun I can afford to shoot alot. Anything you might suggest? I was leaning towards a Kel Tec 2000 but all my dealers tell me that they don't produce enuff and distributors don't ever get any. I see .223 Saigas at Glenn's Guns but what other options are out there I may have overlooked? I have AKs in x39 but ammo prices are not great anymore. Got a good suggestion? I have AKs

Get an AK while you still can. 7.62x39 is still cheap compared to any other ammo and should always be available.

I just picked up and AR-15 well a Bushmaster 16M4ORC to be exact. Close to $900 OTD A few months ago I got a Springfield XD in 45ACP. that was just under $500 Came with 2 13 rnd mags. Oh, I got a half dozen 30 round mags to go with the AR. the AR, 30 round mags and the 13 round mags are on the "Banned in Boston" list they are hatching down in Harrisburg. I don't know fer sure but I suppose they will want to ban the XD too, after all it was the NRA's handgun of the year at one time.

I would say if you're worried about laws and you don't yet have either an AK or an AR15 get one of those.

Sound advice. I'm off to ask AR questions and read. Thanks!

Default AR15 stuff

Surfing around the web I found that the AR's from Stag are well priced and seem to be a good gun. at least no one is bad mouthing them and owners seem happy. There are so many different configurations and they are priced accordingly. If money is tight I would suggest a model without any frills you can always add them later. I would also suggest a flat top model, again you can get a handle for it later if that is your desire. Barrel length should be the big thing in choosing your AR.

Agree with these opinions wholeheartedly. In addition, if you have no preference between the AK vs AR, then I would go with an AK first, then an AR. Why? Because of politics. Take a look at this, and note that the information I'm referring to above is towards the end of the article.

I have a Kel Tek Sub2000, its a great little piece. I love how it folds and you tuck it away just about anywhere. Mine is a 9mm, which is more than enough at the range that thing is supposed to be used at.

I was looking for the Kel Tec 2000 but can't find any and I already own..err did own a Saiga or two. I'm searching for the AR now. So much to learn.

I like the Bushmaster XM15 E2S Dissipator A3 but I think the Rock River lower with that trigger group would server me better but...ah..too many options that I know little about. I'll probably get whatever a dealer can price and deliver. I want the option to add optics but I know I want short and fast currently. I see no reason to get short forearms if my barrel is still 16" and that is why the Dissipator caught my eye. What are your tastes in a short and light version?

For a short fast and light AR I don't think there is a better package than a Bushmaster Carbon 15 with a heads up style reflex sight...IMO of course. If you have the oppurtunity to handle one you will think it's a toy as it is extremely light and points very quickily. Next to the Carbon 15 most of the other ARs are all standard and similar. Pick the stock, grip and handguards that you like best. Again a reflex style dot/cross sight is quite an effective tool for quick pointing both eyes open shooting.
