Walmart sells guns.

I doubt places like Cabelas and Gander MTN are goning to stay open 24hrs a day for the once or twice a month that someone comes in at 3am looking for anything let alone guns. It just does not seem to make sense to me, fiscally that is.
I was thinking about starting an FFL specifically for the hours when all of these other odd-hour places AREN'T open. Do you realize how many goofy hours FFLs seem to carry (i.e. ones not part of sports store conglomerates?)

Why would a gun store operate from 9-5 when everyone else is working 9-5? If they are running other hours, it's like 9-1 on monday, 1-2 on tuesday, closed wednesday and friday. open 8-10 on thursday and saturday..

I then found out that PICS doesn't run at night. How am I going to run an FFL at night if I can't use PICS? No wonder no one sells guns overnight! THEY CAN'T!

I mean how many times have you been awake at 3am and said to yourself " I can't sleep. Guess I'll take some medication....hmmm...but I don't want to feel groggy in the morning. So I'll go buy a gun instead".
Not everyone has a 9-5 job. We're moving to a 24 hour world.

My circadian rhythm isn't 24 hours. Sometimes I'd like to buy a gun at an hour when PICS is not available. It's not because I want to buy a gun 'under the veil of darkness' even though the store is lighted and I'm getting a background check...it's just when I decided it was a good time to buy a gun.

It's definitely a niche that could (and would) be filled, and there's no reason to de facto prohibit the lawful sale of guns overnight.

If the market can't or doesn't want to handle it, let them make the decision. Don't take away their opportunity to make the decision.

Besides, that nice lady that answers the phone at PICS and says "Background check to purchase or transfer a firearm is complete" has to sleep sometime. Honestly, I've never heard her get ticked off or short with a dealer.

In case you haven't read through this thread yet, there'd be no point in getting an FFL and having a store open in the middle of the night, because the government just won't let you sell guns.

A market can't present itself when a market isn't allowed to exist in the first place. How is this any different than saying "machineguns are banned because they aren't in common use" but that they aren't in common use because they are defacto banned?

Supreme Court reasoning is supremely awesome, and I see it has trickled down to the People.

Just in case you have not read your own posts. Your words not mine.

Well, that's a good start. You read a few sentences. Eventually you would have reached:

Why didn't you just tell me I should have said "I had been thinking" instead of "I was thinking" if that was what stopped you from reading any further?
