There is no registration of firearms except NFA items, so no worries

Welcome to Pa If you get stopped and an officer sees your weapon, odds are it will get run through the database of stolen weapons...and....the database that is not supposed to exist, that records all firearm purchases in Pa. If it does not show up on the purchase database, chances are they will take it, and you will have to sue to get it back......

The LEO's here think the PSP sales database, is a registration database, and use it as such.

BTW it's a LTCF.......

There is a database that is kept by the psp. It contains guns that has been purchased. I do not recall how long they have done this. This in no way is a registration. This data base is not all inclusive. As you asked about your guns. They were not bought in Pa. so they would not be in there. There are a few other ways that a person can own a gun and it not be in the database. Such as a curio and relics license.

Is the sales non-database just for handguns, or long guns also? The last time I bought a shotgun I made a joke about the non-existant PSP registry and the dealer smiled and said all paperwork for long gun purchases stay in his file cabinet so he has the only record that associates me with the purchase. Then he chuckled and pulled out a can of lighter fluid and a box of matches he kept next to the cabinet and went on to say that if anyone wants to see what's in his files, they better bring a fire extinguisher.
