Default pistol transfer within family

Just a simple question here. I sold my father a revolver. Do we have to do anyone kind of transfer involving paperwork through an FFL holder? Thanks!

Nope, you're good to go.

Interesting question however. We know the law allows for paperless transfers between parent, child, and/or grandparent, or between a married couple. Say sibling A wants to transfer a pistol to sibling B. If sibling A gives the pistol to her father, and the father then gives it to sibling B, is this legal?

By the letter of the law in PA - yes. But it would be easy for LEO's and a DA to assert that sibling A gave/sold it to sibling B directly. ...thus leaving sibling A in legal hot water. This is where receipts are your friend.

Ok. Thanks for the answer. The dealer I bought my new revolver said that our transfer would require paperwork. Am I surprised? NOOOOOO

If you and your father are both residents of PA and there are no laws forbidding you or your father from posessing a firearm, no transfer is required.
