Default LTCF + Leaving Gun in Car

What is the ruling when you are in a car other than your own while carrying concealed??

What would happen in the following situations?:

*My girlfriend and I are driving into the wonderful city of Philadelphia and we are stopped for a traffic violation, and I'm CC while in the passenger seat......

*I'm driving another family members car and I'm pulled over while CC.....

*I'm using my girlfriend's/family member's car and I transfer a "center of mass" safe from my car to theirs and I'm pulled over.....

None of the above have happened, but I was just doing some stupid thinking while watching tv this morning. I've been speculating over different things, and I wasn't sure if a LTCF covered you while in a vehicle other than your own.

Hopefully everyone can understand what I'm trying to ask, I had a little trouble putting my words on paper.

Thanks

Double B

You are safe in any of those situations. A LTCF doesn't have anything to do with the motor vehicle nor does it have anything to do with the firearm that you carry.

Just curious... I read somewhere that if you a CC in a car and you are not driving that you must notify the driver that you are carrying... is this true or is this just internet crap?

Another side question. If you are in a vehicle and the driver is on probation / parole and you have a legal LTCF and have a handgun concealed on you, can the driver get in trouble for transporting a firearm as it is most likely a violation of whatever parole / probation?

The answer to both questions is - you're free and clear.

For the first, you have no obligation or requirement to notify the driver, or anyone else for that matter.

For the second, you are one in control of the firearm. The other person does not have access to it. His/her parole/probation requirements have no impact on you - and no judge's ruling can make it otherwise.

Anytime I read internet crap like this I ask them to cite the law they are referencing. This may be true in other states but not in PA.
