Default bersa thunder 380 plus

Hi All...Just joined the PAFOA after finding this thread. Just about bought a matte thunder 380 when I found the 380 plus and the 380 CC (concealed carry). I have used a friends thunder 380 and like it as well as its reputation. Question...I like the higher capacity of the plus and the sleekness of the CC. Does anyone have any comparitive overall experiences with the standard thunder 380 vs. the plus and the CC? Any info will be appreciated.

Do a search for thunder 380

There have been numerous discussions about that cool little pistol.

BTW. Welcome to the forum!

well, my bersa 380 plus is the worst gun purchase i have ever made !

sending it in for warrenty repair did not fix the problems competly

it will not feed the last round out of the mag most of the time and if it does it won't lock the slide back after the last round

it seems the mag spring is too weak, so i ordered one new mag $40 bucks (ouch!) and two new mag springs

installed one new mag spring in the old mag and the gun worked properly. the new mag worked properly also

after having 14 rounds sitting in the mag for 3 weeks i noticed that the mag did not nearly have the same amount of spring tension empty as the new empty mag i leave empty. so i compaired springs the new spring the sat for 3 weeks w/14 round in it was 5/8 inch shorter then the other new spring and only 1/4 inch longer then the malfunctioning spring

i did the same comparison to some of my glock mag springs new and used and found only a slight difference, about an 1/8 of an inch

my kel-tec and taurus sit with full mags and function fine

so IMO bersa 380 plus mag springs are defective

Hi Lonehiker,

I appreciate the report...somewhat disappointing report on the Plus, but what I wanted to know. It looks like I am leaning towards the matte standard thunder 380 or the CC model with a couple of extra mags. Have you seen or operated the CC?

Check out http://bersatalk.com. Great info source for Bersa products and help with problems.

Also check out http://www.geocities.com/bersa_thunder/index.html. Excellent source for disassembly/reassembly, cleaning and lubrication info, complete with detailed pictures. They also have a discussion forum geared toward Bersa products.
