I’ve run at least 1000 rounds through my t380 and at least 2/3 were CCI brass. I haven’t had any problems with it.

I clean it every time out and use rod and real grease on the slide, 1 small drop on both the front frame guides, and a small drop on the barrel and spread it with my finger. Every few cleanings, I drop a little oil in the trigger and firing pin assembly. I always brush everything I can get to with cleaner, wipe thoroughly and blow out with compressed air before reassembly.

I just found out Sunset Hill Shooting Range is an authorized Bersa factory service center. Tony has a very good reputation for quality work.

The only major .380 problem I had was the ammo. I purchased CCI and many of the bullets seemed to be set way to deep in the casing. Some even looked cock-eyed. Needless to say I never purchased CCI again, unless it was brass. TRy something new and keep us posted.
I have heard about that too from a dude at the gun shop. He said something to do with the geometry. Now the 9x18 Makarov is another species entirely I think. Am thinking about dumping my 380 and go for the Mak instead.

well i tried different ammo, still jaming big time

but is see exactly what is happening, when the slide pushes the round out of the clip the cartrige "cocks" to the left and the nose of the cartrige jams against the barrel (sharp corner) at the 9 oclock position just above the load ramp and sometimes the rail sides over the cartridge casing when the mag is almost empty (less spring pressure)

the dealer i purchased it from is going to get authorization to send it to T&A gunsmiths (same location as Sunset Set Hill range) thanks for the heads up for them being a Bersa warrenty service center

If I bought a brand new gun and brought it back to the dealer two days later I'd tell him to give me a new gun, and let him deal with it. There is no way I would want a new gun going to a smith. I would tell Bersa to send me new one period!

True Dat' Playa!

<smack>

I mean I agree 100%. They sold you a NEW gun and it should work like new. Let them deal with it and sell it used later.

the small gun dealer/outfitter gives me good prices on the guns i have purchased from him, much lower than the next closest dealer and i don't want to irratate him, he is realy a nice guy

the way i look at it he is sending it out (less ag for me) and a gunsmith will give it a good work out and repair (i hope), more than the factory would do on another new one

since we left the suck a** state of NJ we don't sweat the "small stuff" anymore

we will be going to Fla in a few days and won't be back for over a week so i won't miss it

i still have my p-11 to carry which shoots any 9mm ammo i put into it

I just got back from Sunset Hill Shooting Range / T&A Gunsmithing and spoke with Tony. I dropped off my Sigma for a trigger job and was quoted about $50, and it will be done in a few days. He is off Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Tony took the time to chat and go over what he will polish, where I need to put grease on the sheer pin, and the springs he will replace (just in case he’s not there when I pick it up).

He noticed my Bersa and said he is a factory service center for them and could do any factory service work I needed in the future. We must have spent about 40 min just BS’ing. That alone is worth the $50.

I had seen a few guns he did work on, including a Glock trigger job he did. I was expecting to pay somewhere around $100. He charges $40/hr, so I’ve seen the quality and you can’t beet the price.

Lonehiker,

I'm confused. Do you live in the Pocono's?
I went to a range many moons ago located in Henryville that went by that name.

That’s the place. On 314 about ¼ mile west of 715 in Henryville. I’m in Milford and its about a 35 mile drive from me.

That's what I thought. No big deal. I'm just confused. Lonhiker's post yield from Potter County. Whatever.
