Default S&W revolver grip technique.

for you guys (and girls) who shoot smith and wesson revolvers what is the grip technique you are using? the reason i ask is i've been firing revolvers since i began shooting (about 2-3 years) and the problem with S&W i've had is the cylinder release wants to jump back under recoil while using thumb over thumb technique and smack me in the right hand thumb. this has never happened on any colt i've owned or shot and it's really bothering me because i absolutely love my 29-2 but the last time i fired it i had to cut the session short because it smacked my thumb so hard it removed a good portion of the skin and i was bleeding on my gun. i also noticed it while shooting a friend's .38 snub nose m36.
my pistol wears pachmayr presentation grips and i have smallish hands (5'5") i am considering purchasing hogue rugger mono grips for the finger grooves hoping this will stop the roll in my hand.
what is your technique? cup and saucer? do you grip above the "hump" in the backstrap? thanks.

I shoot revolver the same way as pistol, my left hand thumb is next to the trigger guard, never had a problem with anything catching, mind you on a quick second shot once i had some flash hit me on the thumb nail
