Shoot enough Kimbers, and you'll realize they're a brand which tends to require attention from gunsmiths more often than not.

The OP is obviously happy with his purchase. Scott mentioned how accurate it is.

If we buy a $40,000.00 automobile it does not have a lifetime warranty. My condo did not come with a lifetime warranty.

So when we purchase a handgun for roughly $1,000.00 why do we get so wrapped up in having a lifetime warranty?
Because of the reputation of the product, and what IS available on the market. If you could buy an equivalent product, for the same price, with a warranty...would you choose the one from the company which tells you they won't stand behind it after a year? Or the ones who stand behind their product, period?

Parts for pistols are not that expensive.
Paying someone to fit and install them is, as is refinishing, as is shipping....

Enjoy your Kimber CPratt. Shoot the heck out of it. Then shoot it some more!
That's why they have horse races....

Cheers.

I think it has to do with some companies out there who do offer lifetime warranties. Just a peace of mind thing for some.

Lol, I'm glad I'm not the only one that likes a lifetime warranty. I was about to mention that parts might not be expensive but the smith's time costs ALOT more than those parts, heck even these days shipping for those small parts costs too much. I have in mind exactly what Synergy and Jtkratzer had in mind. If you pay the same amount of money for a pistol that will shoot just as good, and be as or more reliable, BUT not have to pay for parts and work on the pistol for the life of the pistol vs one that you do have to pay for the parts on. Most of us would rather have the one that we get the free pistol parts and work on, but that's just me.

P.S. Your house, and not even your car take the beating that a thoroughly shot pistol does. Sure you can drive the hell out of your car, but you figure out how many g's a bullet accelerates with as it leaves th barrel, and figure how much of a beating that slide, rails, etc take; they don't take near the beating that a pistol with thousands of rounds through it does.
